Titas Sadhu was awarded the “Player of the Match” for her outstanding performance, while Grace Scrivens earned the title of “Player of the Series” for her consistent contributions throughout the tournament.
They couldn’t have asked for a better day if the Women’s IPL needed any publicity. You will undoubtedly cry when you hear some of these girls’ tales about their poor beginnings and the sacrifices made by their families to support them as they rose to the top. Consider how Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami, two legends, must be feeling right now. Unmatched bliss could be one of their emotions.
Before her squad walked out to the middle today, Shafali Verma said, “Dhyaan rakhna, apna 100% dena, teek hai” (Stay focused, offer your 100 percent). She was anything but that during the presentations, though. During her interview with Charles Dagnall, the world-class cricketer sobbed at least four times and did her best to capture the tournament’s emotional journey. She has played a limited amount of international cricket and has been on the losing end of a few finals; the joy of winning this and the satisfaction of putting those terrible memories behind her were evident in her remarks. The Haryana girl’s journey has been like riding a roller coaster.
Shafali takes the trophy, and they leave. They are covered in confetti and yell in unison before posing for photos. It’s time to take a picture beneath the champions banner. As Potchefstroom soaks up all the happiness and sadness, shouts of “India, India” resound around the city. The trophy is currently in the possession of the support personnel. The attitude in the Indian camp right now can only be described as utter jubilation, and you can bet that it won’t abate any time soon.
India captain Shafali Verma commented the way the girls are supporting one another while performing makes her happy. It was a fantastic feeling. She thanked to the staff for their support and for reminding them every day that they are here for the cup and that they are the reason the team are standing here today. She owes them everything. The players have given her a lot of support. She is grateful to BCCI for providing her with such a lovely team, and she is thrilled to have won the cup. She (Shweta Sehrawat) performed admirably and adhered to all of the staff’s plans. Not only her, but Archana, Soumya, and her honestly can’t remember their names, but they have all been amazing. When asked if this is the only Cup she will win this season in South Africa, she replied, “No, definitely not.”
England captain – Grace Scrivens, who has won the Player of the Tournament stated that she is satisfied with the outcome. Although it was a fantastic experience, she had never actually played outside of the country and had to deal with such weather. She said that the team had to adjust to various circumstances. They practice in the nets frequently and attempt to balance that exercise. They were devastated since their batting failed us. They attempted to go hard at the bowlers today because they were so good at it during the competition, but it didn’t quite work. These gals are all amazing, and she had a great time serving as their captain. They (the senior England team) traveled here, which is amazing and truly fantastic. She is really grateful for the fans’ support.
