PSL 2024
In 2024, the Pakistan Cricket Board will usher in the long-awaited PSL season. This event has become a top event in the cricket world over the past eight seasons. Since its launch in September 2015, the PSL has been an eagerly awaited part of cricket fans, delivering exciting moments for fans every season.
PSL’s staggering profits prove its grandeur and success
In May 2016, the PCB announced that the PSL had made an impressive first-season profit of $2.6 million, paving the way for the tournament’s success. As time goes by, the influence and appeal of PSL have further expanded, becoming one of the most watched leagues in the cricket world.
In the 2022 edition, the season held entirely in Pakistan became a milestone. PCB chairman Ramiz Raja reported that the PSL’s profits increased by 71%, with each franchise making healthy profits. Before the start of the season, revenue had reached an eye-popping 900 million rupees ($3.1 million), which shows the strong commercial position and appeal of the PSL.
The grandeur of PSL has produced the best teams and made them a historical benchmark
Islamabad United and Lahore Quirandals highlighted their excellence by becoming the only two teams in the history of PSL to win the title twice. However, the current champions Lahore Qalandars achieved unprecedented success in the 2023 season, becoming the only team in the history of the PSL to successfully defend the title.
